The sad news was just confirmed that Dr. Jim Raman has passed away. The 42-year-old rose to fame when he and his wife competed on the 25th season of The Amazing Race.
Sadly, Raman was found dead in his home on Monday in South Carolina. The orthodontist was only 42-years-old at the time of his death.
The Lexington County Coroner, Margaret Fisher, confirmed the sad news. However, she did not give any details out of respect for the family.
She said, “Nothing suspicious or criminal is involved with the case you are referencing and out of compassion and respect for family, my office will not comment on it.”
Raman was in the public eye in 2014 when he and his wife, Misti, won second place overall in The Amazing Race competition. Out of the twelve stages of the show, the couple won five of them.
According to reports, Jim and Misti worked together at Irmo Smiles, a dental practice. The company talked about their loss.
They wrote, “Irmo Smiles has suffered a tragic loss this week. It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Dr. Jim Raman.”
They continued, “As our staff and the family prepare for Dr. Raman’s celebration of life, please join us in praying for peace and comfort during this difficult time. Your patience is greatly appreciated as we give Dr. Misti Raman time to grieve the loss of her loving husband.”
Raman was graduate of the University of South Carolina and received his doctorate of dental medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina’s College of Dental Medicine.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, March 16.
