Music World in Mourning After Major Influencer on Industry Passes Away

The sad news was just reported that Jim Dunlop Sr., a legend in the music industry, just passed away. Dunlop was beloved around the world for his contributions to the music gear industry. 

According to Loud Wire, Dunlop was one of the "most influential music gear innovators." He was best known for his infamous Dunlop guitar picks. Additionally, he was the originator of the "Cry Baby" wah-wah pedal, something that drastically influenced rock music. 

Jim founded Dunlop Manufacturing in 1965. Jim reportedly was a chemical engineer and built his business in his home from the ground up. 

Following the news of his passing, several people took to social media to mourn the loss. 

American Musical Supply wrote, "Rest in Peace, Jim Dunlop. Thank you for the years of innovations. You made a major impact to the guitar industry and will be remembered forever. Thank you."

Jim's son, Jim Dunlop Jr., shared a photo of his father as well. He didn't post a caption with the photo.

Stevie Salas, the guitarist who has worked with several famous people including Mick Jagger, Rod Stewart, and George Clinton posted about Jim's death as well. 

He wrote, "THE LEGEND JIM DUNLOP RIP You will never be forgotten."
