After nearly 20 years of marriage, another Hollywood couple has called it quits. According to reports, Jim Belushi's wife has filed for divorce.
The news of their split comes at an interesting time. Belushi's soon-to-be ex-wife, Jennifer Sloan, picked Monday to file for their divorce, which also happens to be the 36-year anniversary of the death of Jim's brother, John Belushi.
In 1982, John Belushi tragically passed away at only thirty-three years old. He died from a drug overdose of cocaine and heroin while staying at a Hollywood hotel.
John Belushi's career was cut short after rising to fame for his roles on "Saturday Night Live," "National Lampoon's Animal House," and "The Blues Brothers." While the world grieved the loss of John, his legacy lived on when his brother Jim began his career in acting.
Following in his late brother's footsteps, Jim became a cast member on "Saturday Night Live" and then went on to be the star of the television sitcom, "According to Jim." The show ran from 2001-2009.
News of their divorce comes after Belushi has been divorced twice before. Belushi and Sloan were married on May 2, 1998, and share a 19-year-old daughter and a 16-year-old son.
Sloan is reportedly requesting joint legal custody of the children and spousal support. According to court documents, she cited irreconcilable differences as the reason behind their split.
