Earlier this week, the horrible news was reported that a beloved meteorologist for Fox News passed away. Sadly, 35-year-old Jessica Starr took her own life

According to initial reports, Jessica left work early on Wednesday. A few hours later, she was found dead at her home.

An online statement for Fox 2 said, “All of us here at Fox 2 are in deep shock and cannot believe that such a wonderful, bright and intelligent individual will no longer be with us.”

Several of her coworkers took to social media to talk about her shocking death. Now, some more sad details have been revealed about Starr’s death. The medical examiner officially reported that the cause of death was "hanging" and was "death by suicide."

Carol Starr, Jessica’s mother, just opened up about her daughter’s death. She talked about the weeks leading up to it, when Jessica’s Lasik eye surgery did not go quite as planned. Carol said that her daughter’s sleep had been affected, that she had lost weight, and that it was taking longer than expected to heal.

Then she said, “She went to, like,  four specialists. From what we’re hearing now, [the surgery] can have other implications, including on the optic nerve. It can cause some brain trauma.”

Carol said, “I’m just so distraught…we’re devastated. She was fabulous, dedicated, wonderful, strong, determined, beautiful daughter. She was everything. She was my girl.”

She continued, talking about Jessica’s two children. She said that Jessica’s widower, Daniel, is not sure how we will be able to raise the two children on his own.

Carol said, “My granddaughter asked for her last night. I laid down with her and she said, ‘I want somebody else,’ and I just fell apart.”

Please continue praying for Jessica's family during this sad time, especially for her husband and two children. Share your prayers here.
