The 90th annual Academy Awards ceremony took place in Los Angeles, California on Sunday, March 4th. The Oscars, which was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, was filled with a number of notable red carpet moments.
One of the most memorable moments of the event was actress Jennifer Garner’s “concerned” expression while applauding during the ceremony. Garner, 45, was casually clapping when she suddenly had a “worried” look on her face. Watch the clip below:
The short video clip was turned into a meme that quickly went viral and had fans extremely curious as to what crossed the actress’ mind. Creative explanations circulated social media, some predicting that Garner came to an “epiphany” of some sort like suddenly realizing she forgot to turn off the curling iron or thaw the chicken.
Garner finally responded to her expression going viral on Monday, reported Fox News.
On her Instagram story, Garner played the viral video with a voice over offering three different explanations to the “concerned” look on her face. Read her explanations below:
—“Congrats to Shape of Water! Maybe I should date a fish?” Garner stated referring to the film that won the Academy Award for “Best Picture.”
—“Hey Jimmy Kimmel, what’s in your wallet? Wait where’s my wallet?” she joked in her second explanation.
—In Garner's third explanation, she joked about working with controversial actress Lena Dunham.
Fox noted that Garner doesn’t seem to know exactly why she made the face that she did — or at least isn’t sharing the actual reason for her distraction.
