The sad news was reported on Friday, August 3 that reality star James “L.B.” Bonner has passed away. Sadly, according to Fox News, the 31-year-old appeared to have taken his own life.
Bonner passed away on August 2 at his home in South Carolina. Police reportedly responded to a call early in the morning on August 2nd and found him dead.
The Lexington Police Department confirmed Bonner’s death. Additionally, a family member told Radar Online that “he did pass away.”
Bonner was formerly a star on TLC’s “My 600-Lb Life.” While he had struggled with his weight throughout his life, he seemed to have been doing a lot better with his health.
According to reports, a car accident in 2013 resulted in Bonner losing his leg. After, he turned to food and alcohol for support, eventually reaching 650 pounds.
After his time on the reality TV show, Bonner worked extremely hard to lose weight. He dieted, exercised, and had surgery and eventually was in the 200-pound range before his death.
A friend said, “Haven’t heard exactly what happened, but I keep seeing people say something about depression is real. And I know his dad has been sick recently also. My husband has known him since he was a little boy. This is so sad and so unexpected. I thought he was doing really well with his new job and girlfriend. Not to mention his weight loss and upcoming surgery.”
Another friend said, “You never know what someone is going through. Depression is real and takes on many forms. Please tell the people in your life how much you love them, how proud you are of them, and that you are there to help even if it’s just to listen…”
This is a developing story. We will continue to update as more information is made available.
Please be praying for Bonner’s family and friends during this horrible time. He was too young to take his own life, and this must be unbearable for those who loved him. Share your prayers here! In other recent news, almond milk was just recalled in 28 states- don't drink it if it's contaminated!
