Yesterday, the unthinkable happened in a Florida courtroom during jury selection for a man accused of the Parkland shooting.
MTO News learned that Miss Bristol, a potential juror from Jamaica, interrupted the judge. She said that the trial would last ‘a whole lotta month’ and that it would conflict with her birthday. It would also interrupt her love life and marriage with her side-dude.
The juror spoke for Circuit Judge Elizabeth Scherer, 46. It is hard to believe, but you must see it.
First, let me clarify that July 2nd is my birthday, July 4th is my son and July 18th is my second son. Again, I need to figure something. I see my sugar daddy every single day.
The judge said, “I’m sorry?” Miss Bristol replied: ‘My sugar daddy.’
The judge looked increasingly confused and said: “I’m not sure what you are talking about.”
“Well, I’m married and I have my sugar daddy.” I see him every single day.
Judge Scherer, who was lost for words, replied: “OK. All right. Ma’am. We’ll get back to you. OK? Thank you. Later, Miss Bristol was excused.
The video of the judge’s conversation with the woman has gone viral. Many people have called her sugar daddy story their best excuse for getting out of jury service.
People were shocked by the social media exchange.
“I mean, who doesn’t have tried the sugar daddy excuse to get off jury duty at least once?” One user said so.
Another said that Florida court clerks will have to add the sugar daddy exemption to jury service.
“Well, this has to be one of the best excuses I’ve ever heard!” Another quipped.
“If having to go to Sugar Daddy is not a valid excuse for being dismissed from jury duty, then what else is?” Another.
The sentencing hearing is scheduled to take place between June and September.
Monday was the first day for jury selection.
According to prosecutors, Cruz was a 19 year-old expelled student who had a history of behavioral and mental issues at the time of the murders.
