A great tragedy emerged out of the Hollywood scene over the weekend. Jackson Odell — a young television star from ABC who also had several notable film roles — was tragically found dead at only 20 years old.
Odell starred in two hit ABC series: “The Goldbergs” and “Modern Family.” He is also a well-known teen actor from Nickelodeon’s “iCarly” and the movie “Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer” (2011).
Additionally, Odell was a singer/songwriter. Recently, he wrote several songs for the movie “Forever Your Girl” (2018), reported Fox News.
According to TMZ, the young actor was found unresponsive inside of a sober living home in San Fernando Valley, California on Friday, June 8th. News regarding his sudden death did not break until Sunday, June 10th.
As of Sunday afternoon, an official cause of death has not been released. However, authorities stated that foul play does not appear to be a factor.
Odell’s family released a heartbreaking statement after the news of their son’s death went public:
"The Odell family has lost our beloved son and brother, Jackson Odell. He will always be a shining light and a brilliant, loving and talented soul. He had so much more to share. Our family will always carry that truth forward. Our wish is that the rest of the world does as well. We are now going to try to make sense of our immeasurable loss privately."
