Last month, liberal comedian Samantha Bee faced major backlash for her vulgar remarks against First Daughter Ivanka Trump. Bee referred to Trump as a “feckless c***” and, in addition, suggested she “put on something tight and low cut” to confront her father about his immigration policies.

The Trump-critic later apologized for her actions, but she managed to keep her job without penalty. Conservatives were quick to point out that Republican names in the industry, including Roseanne Barr, lost their job over critical remarks they apologized for.

Weeks after the Bee-Trump controversy, the First Daughter finally broke her silence on the situation. In an interview that aired Friday morning, June 29th, Trump appeared on Fox’s “Mornings with Maria” to discuss the issue of civil discourse.

When asked about Bee’s vulgar comments, Trump responded, "For me, I never allow myself to forget the extraordinary privilege that I have to serve this country. And I try to stay focused on that and on executing and on the long term...I have chosen and I made a conscientious decision a long time ago that I was not going to get into the fray."

“I’ll absorb the body blows that come my way but it is important to me to focus on the task at hand, which is serving the American people and using this moment in my life to advance an agenda that I deeply believe in and feel very fortunate to be able to work on,” she added before transitioning into tax reform.

Trump supporters admired that the First Daughter took the high road when asked to comment on Bee’s attacks.

“Talk about class! When they go low. She is amazing,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
