Massive Explosion Near Airport Causes Bridge to Collapse, At Least 56 People Injured

On Monday, August 6th, news broke that a massive explosion occurred near Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport in Bologna, Italy. At least 56 people were initially reported injured as a result of the explosion.

According to Independent, the explosion was caused by an “accident involving a truck that was transporting flammable substances, which exploded upon impact.”

The explosion resulted in a severe highway damage; a massive crater was left in the middle of the road and a nearby bridge partially collapsed. See the crazy video footage below:
