President Trump announced on Friday that the long talked about meeting with North Korea will be happening on June 12th in Singapore.
The announcement comes after President Trump hosted Kim Yong Chol, a North Korean official, at the White House. During that meeting, Chol gave Trump a personal letter from Kim Jong Un.
“We’re going to deal,” Trump told reporters. “We talked about a lot of things. We really did. But the big deal will be on June 12.”
During the meeting with Chol, President Trump also discussed a possible end to the Korean war. “Can you believe that we’re talking about the ending of the Korean war?” Trump asked a group of reporters. “We’re talking about 70 years.”
