Iconic Car Brand Recalling Over One Million Vehicles, Steering Issue Concerns

One of the most famous car manufacturers in the entire world has just announced a major recall. According to reports, over a million cars and trucks could be affected by the announcement.

"General Motors is recalling more than a million big pickup trucks and SUVs in the U.S. because of power-assisted steering problems that have been cited in a number of accidents," reported Fox.

The recall mostly pertains to certain Chevrolet Silverados and GMC Sierra trucks. Chevy Tahoe and Suburban SUVs, 2015 Cadillac Escalade and GMC Yukon SUVs are also at risk for the dangerous steering issue.

"GM says the power steering can fail momentarily during a voltage drop and suddenly return, mainly during low-speed turns. Such a failure increases the risk of a crash. The company says it has 30 reports of crashes with two injuries, but no deaths," reported Fox.

If you drive one of these vehicles, please consult your local dealership. GM has announced that local dealers will fix the issue at no additional cost to the owner.

"Dealers will update the power steering software at no cost to owners. No date has been set to notify customers, but GM says the software is available now, so owners can contact dealers to schedule repairs," reported Fox.
