A terrible outbreak has caused fear and panic among customers who have recently eaten at McDonald's. According to reports, an outbreak of intestinal illness linked to eating salads from McDonald's is widening.

Last week, officials alerted the public to a scary parasite that they had traced back to fast food giant. Now, 163 people have become sick and multiple people have had to be hospitalized.

Sadly, there is a scary update now being revealed about the case. It appears the outbreak is spreading! More states have just been listed in the notice.

McDonald's has now stopped selling salads at restaurants in 14 states, according to the FDA. They are Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Kentucky, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

"Transmitted in foods tainted by fecal matter, cyclospora can cause stomach cramps, nausea and flu-like symptoms a week or more after someone consumes food or liquid contaminated with the parasite," reported CBS News.
