Prince William and Kate Middleton went out on a date night at the theater on Friday.

Kate Middleton looked beautiful in her blue embellished dress, designed by Jenny Packham. The expectant Duchess showed off her growing baby bump while attending the Royal Variety Performance in London.

This year, the event featured performances from artists including James Blunt, The Killers, Louis Tomlinson, Michael Ball, Paloma Faith, The Script, and Seal. It was hosted by comedian and actor Miranda Hart.

A big scare caused a mass panic at nearby Oxford Circus station. According to the Metropolitan Police, officers responded to many emergency calls on Friday evening claiming that shots had were fired. After a quick response and evacuation, the police said they found no evidence of shots fired or any casualties.

At the actual event, William was forced by Miranda Hart to join in the show’s audience participation.

Hart, who said compelling William to participate was on her to-do list for the Royal Variety duties, said she later hoped to see him galloping. While the Prince performed his part, Kate burst out laughing as the spotlight fell on them.

The event is in support of the Royal Variety Charity, of which Queen Elizabeth is a patron. The money raised from the show helps hundreds of entertainers throughout the U.K. who need assistance as a result of old age, ill-health or hard times.
