Days after losing his wife of 73 years, President George H.W. Bush was rushed to the hospital. His health has been deteriorating in recent years, and family members feared something terrible could happen.

Doctors discovered he had a life-threatening blood infection. The former President was placed in the intensive care unit for treatment and was monitored closely.

Now, he just got some major news in the midst of a grim outlook. His condition is said to be improving!

"President George H.W. Bush has been moved from the intensive care unit at Houston Methodist Hospital to a regular patient room, and is expected to continue his recovery there," Bush representative Jim McGrath said in a statement.

The President is reportedly grateful for everyone who has prayed for him, and his family, during this tough time. It has truly been a hard few weeks for the Bush family.

"He also wants to assure everyone that, as good as he feels now, he is more focused on the Houston Rockets closing out their playoff series against the Minnesota Timberwolves than anything that landed him in the hospital," McGrath wrote.
