How Planned Parenthood Rewards The Mass Media’s Loyalty

Planned Parenthood is fighting hard against public perception after being exposed for their callous deference to life and unborn children in the series of undercover videos released by the Center for Medical Progress that show the abortion provider haggling over prices for aborted baby parts.

The abortion provider has hired a public relations firm and launched numerous campaigns to censor the undercover videos.  In addition to trying to downplay the scandal, Planned Parenthood has turned to their friends in the mainstream media to either not report on the scandal, downplay it, and if all else fails attack the undercover investigation.

The reward for unquestioning loyalty to Planned Parenthood?  A Maggie award.

According to Newsbusters, the Maggie awards (named after founder Margaret Sanger) are given out every year to journalists and media outlets that help promote the abortion provider and push the “pro-choice” agenda.  The Maggie awards have been handed out since 1978.  Not surprisingly, the three major TV networks (ABC, NBC, and CBS) all have received multiple awards.

The list of this year's recipients hail from liberal outlets such as:  Salon, Buzzfeed, Vice, Teen Vogue, Elle, Cosmopolitan, Yahoo, Esquire, Ebony, and a few others.
