The crown is heavy, as the old saying goes. It turns out that the intricacies surrounding who can wear which tiara is a complicated one. Queen Elizabeth had to decide. There are rules and regulations that govern their use and design, just like everything else related to the royal family.
The royal lineage was represented by the sparkling headpieces. sTatus and tradition are both important. However, no matter how elaborate or extravagant the design or use of the tiaras is, it must follow simple rules. They do not completely cover the head like a crown. Typically speaking, the royal tiaras appeared on the heads of Queen Elizabeth’s family members because she loaned them out for special occasions.
Other rules include no tiaras after 6 p.m. except for daytime weddings. Another rule is that no one can wear a tiara unless they are a member or a child of the family.
Unfortunately, there is no clear detail as to why and what the Queen would lend to her family members, but surely, there’s a special significance behind each decision.
Clearly, a lot goes into the decisions of doling out jewels and tiaras — but short of a tell-all from the Queen, her choices for who wore her gemstone and jeweled headpieces are certainly fascinating.
