The new normal. Prince HarryA insider revealed that the late Queen Elizabeth II’s military uniform is being worn to events in his home, and that he is now comfortable. Us Weekly.
“He has come to terms with not wearing uniform on these occasions,” the source says of the Duke of Sussex, 37. “Whilst that’s disappointing in some senses, he’s just grateful to be present and honoring the queen. At the end of the day, it’s only a uniform.”
After Buckingham Palace confirmed Harry’s uncle’s death, the question of Harry’s uniform being worn at funeral events was front and center. Prince Andrew was granted permission to wear his for the queen’s final vigil.
Following the death of the Duke of York, 62 years old, he resigned from all public duties in 2019. Virginia Giuffre‘s allegations that he sexually assaulted her when she was a teenager. Giuffre, a Giuffre native from the U.K., and Andrew, 39, settled out-of-court earlier this year. However Andrew was stripped in January of all his royal titles, patronages, and royal titles.
Harry served for ten years in the British Armed Forces. After his discharge, he and Meghan MarkleAnnounced their intention to step down from senior working royals in January 2020. The former helicopter pilot also lost his three honorary military titles, Captain General Royal Marines and Honorary Flight Commandant of RAF Honington.
After news broke that he wouldn’t receive the same uniform exception as his uncle, a spokesperson for Harry said that the BetterUp CIO wasn’t bothered by the dress code rules.
“[Prince Harry] will wear a morning suit throughout events honoring his grandmother,” the spokesperson said in a statement, according to royal correspondent Omid Scobie. “His decade of military service is not determined by the uniform he wears and we respectfully ask that focus remain on the life and legacy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.”

“Harry was very proud to have Meghan by his side,” the first source tells UseThe Windsor walkabout. “He thought she handled the occasion with great class and dignity.”
Invictus Games founder and CEO, Invictus Games, spoke to mourners about his grandmother who died on Thursday, September 8th, at the age of 96. “It’s a lonely place up there now without her,” he told well-wishers while pointing in the direction of Windsor Castle. “Every room she was in, you felt her presence throughout.”
