On Sunday a tour bus was involved in a multi-vehicle crash that left three people dead and 22 others injured. At least three of the injured are in critical condition, according to Fox News.
The crash involved a charter bus, a semi-truck and other vehicles, occurring around 2:25 a.m. on Interstate 25 in New Mexico, just north of Bernalillo, about 18 miles north of Albuquerque, the Rio Rancho Fire Department confirmed.
According to authorities, the tour bus overturned in the northbound lane, which trapped injured passengers inside. Local fire department personnel had to use the Jaws of Life to free them.
Of the 38 people involved in the crash, 35 were aboard the tour bus, KRQE reported.
The injuries range from broken bones and lacerations to head and internal injuries over a crash scene that is about 100 yards long. Twelve of the injured were taken to University of New Mexico Hospital.
Eight patients were transported to Sandoval Regional Medical Center, where after a time, six were treated and released.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash. The identity of the three who perished was not immediately known, or where the tour bus was headed or from where it had come.
Please pray for the injured, and for the families of the deceased passengers. On a lighter note, check out Duchess Kate and Prince William as they attend Wimbledon together.
