President Donald Trump arrived in Texas on Tuesday aside First Lady Melania Trump, so he could receive a briefing and thank the state’s government officials. The two scheduled a short trip to the south shortly after Hurricane Harvey struck the Texas coast late Friday evening.

After sitting down with Texas Governor Greg Abbott to thank everyone involved in the hurricane relief efforts, Trump later spoke to Texas citizens personally. In front of a fire station, Trump gave a powerful, inspirational speech to hundreds of Texans.

He began, “Thank you. Thank you everybody,” as the crowd cheered. He continued, “I just want to say we love you, you are special, we’re here to take care; it’s going well.”

He ended, “I will tell you this is historic; it’s epic, what happened. But you know what? It happened in Texas and Texas can handle anything.” Trump then held up the Texas flag. Watch his speech below.

In a separate video, the crowd can be heard going wild after Trump took the mic. They chanted “USA,” which was printed in dark blue letters on Trump’s white hat, proving that the spirit of Texas is “absolutely incredible” in the midst of tragic times.
