In May, the popular conservative comedy "Roseanne" was canceled after the show's star, Roseanne Barr, made some harmful comments on her Twitter account. The show had been extremely successful in its recent return, but after the actress made what was viewed as racist comments on her account, the show was immediately canceled.
Last week, ABC network announced that they would be continuing a spinoff of the popular TV show but with one twist: it wouldn't include Roseanne Barr or her name. Rather, "The Connors" would be featuring all of the other characters from the show.
With the news of the spinoff, fans around the nation have been asking one question: "What's next for Roseanne?" Now, Roseanne Barr has opened up a bit about her future plans.
While many thought that with the recent drama Roseanne would be out of television for a while, the actress revealed that she may be back sooner than fans expected. She talked about her potential future with her good friend, Rabbi Shmuley Roteach.
Roseanne said, "Inside every bad thing is a good thing waiting to happen and I feel very excited because I've already been offered so many things and I almost already accepted one really good offer to go back to TV and I might do it. But we'll see."
Not only did she say she might return to TV quickly, the actress also talked about her payout for her namesake show. According to ABC News, she didn't ask for one when the network revealed that they would be creating a spinoff.
She said, "I thought signing off my own life's work and asking for nothing in return I thought that was a penance. Sometimes you ask people what do you think should be done to you knowing what you've done wrong and it seems that people always know what should be done to them."
She continued, "I just knew that was the right thing and I want to do the right thing because I've lived my life, most part of it, to do the right thing for all people, not just Jews."
After Roseanne made the announcement, fans began freaking out! Many people said that she deserves to be on TV and that she recognized her mistakes in those Tweets and apologized. Other people on the Internet were questioning if she was punished enough. A quick search on Twitter will reveal hundreds of opinions on the subject.
