Over the weekend, the Red Hen restaurant in Lexington, Virginia, made the decision to refuse service to White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders. The co-owner, Stephanie Wilkinson, asked the high-ranking member of the Trump Administration and her family to leave.

Wilkinson talked to the Washington Post about the incident. She revealed that her business had thrived for 10 years because "she’s kept politics off the menu in a town that has been deeply divided over political issues." However, she made a decision to step away from that, and it's likely to hurt her.

“I’m not a huge fan of confrontation,” Wilkinson said. “I have a business, and I want the business to thrive. This feels like the moment in our democracy when people have to make uncomfortable actions and decisions to uphold their morals."

However, she didn't explain what was so offensive about Sanders and her family eating dinner. The family was eating cheese plates that the staff had served them when they made the decision to ask them to leave.

Wilkinson, who was at home that evening, says her chef called her and asked her for advice on how to proceed. This seems to imply that Wilkinson had expressed her objections to serving Sanders before Sanders even walked into her restaurant.

Wilkinson, who says she personally believes that Sanders works for an “inhumane and unethical” administration, made the decision to ask Sanders to leave.

Wilkinson walked up to Sanders' table and said: “I’m the owner. I’d like you to come out to the patio with me for a word.”

After the two stepped outside, Wilkinson claims she was "polite" and "direct" when she asked Sanders to leave.

"I explained that the restaurant has certain standards that I feel it has to uphold, such as honesty, and compassion, and cooperation. I’d like to ask you to leave.”

Wilkinson said Sanders immediately responded, “That’s fine. I’ll go.”

In a side comment that shows exactly how classy Sanders is, Wilkinson revealed that the Sanders family offered to pay for the cheese plates they had ordered before leaving. Wilkinson refused the offer.

After one of Wilkinson's staff posted on social media that Sanders had been kicked out of the restaurant, Sanders responded.

She tweeted, “Last night I was told by the owner of Red Hen in Lexington, VA to leave because I work for @POTUS and I politely left. Her actions say far more about her than about me. I always do my best to treat people, including those I disagree with, respectfully and will continue to do so.”

What do you think about Wilkinson's action? In other news, a huge pro-life victory was just handed down by the SCOTUS.
