Actress Heather Locklear has reportedly been hospitalized following a suicide threat. The 56-year-old Hollywood star is best-known for her role on the popular 1990s television series “Melrose Place” but has also starred in a number of films including “The Perfect Man,” “Flirting with Forty,” and others.

According to PEOPLE, a family member called 911 on Sunday after Locklear threatened to shoot and kill herself. She was allegedly “agitated and violent” during the incident.

The actress apparently did not have immediate access to any weapons. However, authorities stated that she was looking for a gun to attempt suicide.

It is unclear if she was under the influence at the time of the incident but Locklear does have a history of substance abuse. Over the years, she has been admitted to rehab facilities and arrested for a DUI.

She was taken to the hospital for a psychological evaluation. The results will determine if Locklear was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

In wake of the hospitalization, family and fans were extremely worried. Fortunately for Locklear, the family member who called 911 potentially prevented a great tragedy.

Many fans also took to social media to express their concerns for Locklear’s overall health and wellbeing.

This news comes only months after her arrest earlier this year in February. She was arrested for felony domestic violence and attack a police officer; charges were filed but later dropped.

Please keep Heather Locklear in your prayers during this time. In other recent news, a television host opened up about a heartbreaking story involving his child’s death and shared how God’s love shined through the tragedy.
