On October 5th, news broke that Harvey Weinstein, a famous Hollywood producer, is facing multiple sexual harassment allegations by women in the Hollywood industry. Actress Ashley Judd, who made a controversial political name for herself after her "I am a nasty woman" speech at the women's march, first came forward about her unsettling experiences with Weinstein in a media interview.

Weinstein has produced several notable films including “Good Will Hunting,” “Scream,” “Gangs of New York,” “Shakespeare in Love,” and many others. He is also the co-founder of a successful production company, Miramax.

During an interview with the New York Times, Judd revealed that Weinstein invited her to his hotel room years ago for a “meeting,” which ended with him asking her for a massage and also offered her to watch him take a shower.

Several other women who worked with Weinstein have also come forward with similar stories. The Times discovered that at least 8 women have reached a settlement including models, assistants, and actresses that have been a part of the company.

New details are slowly being uncovered in this scandal as an investigation against Weinstein has been conducted.

Weinstein admitted the truth in an apologetic statement, “I appreciate the way I’ve behaved with colleagues in the past has caused a lot of pain, and I sincerely apologize for it. Though I’m trying to do better, I know I have a long way to go.”

However, he denied Judd’s claims.

According to People, Weinstein's’ fashion designer wife is standing by him. The couple has hired celebrity attorney Lisa Bloom, who has been in the spotlight for defending comedian Kathy Griffin, actor and comedian Bill Cosby, and many others.

Additionally, he is reportedly attending therapy and taking a leave of absence from his position. Fox reported that he plans to sue the New York Times for any related costs in wake of his exposure.

Others in Hollywood apparently "all knew" about Weinstein's actions. One editor from the Daily Beast commented, "Dear Hollywood, if you "all knew" about Harvey Weinstein, why didn't you f-ing say anything?"
