Last month, the newest royal couple revealed some more exciting news. They are expecting their first child! Now, the Kensington Palace has released some unexpected news regarding Harry and Meghan.
They revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be moving! According to their statement, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be moving out of their two-bedroom home at the Kensington Palace and will instead be going to Frogmore Cottage at Windsor Castle, which has ten bedrooms.
According to ET Online, the couple’s new home is the same place that their engagement photos were taken. The location is also very close to the house where Harry and Meghan had their wedding reception.
Frogmore Cottage is around 30 miles away from the Kensington Palace. It is a big move for the royal couple, as it is a symbol of their growing family!
The Kensington Palace statement said, “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will move to Frogmore Cottage on the Windsor Estate early next year as they prepare for the arrival of their first child. The couple has lived at Nottingham Cottage since their engagement last year.”
They continued, “Windsor is a very special place for Their Royal Highnesses and they are grateful that their official residence will be on the estate. The Duke and Duchess’ official office will continue to be based at Kensington Palace.”
According to reports, the couple wanted to make sure that their children have as “normal an upbringing as possible.” One way to do that is to raise them in a different location that Prince William and Duchess Kate’s children, who are in the direct line to the throne.
The family will also spend a considerable amount of time at their home in the Costwolds, where they already spend many weekends.
