A tragic news story has just unfolded this morning in Paris. According to reports, an armed gunman held a pregnant woman hostage after dousing two other individuals in gasoline.
The gunman carried a bag with him and claimed to have a bomb. Anti-terrorist police quickly swarmed in on the area, surrounding the computer store in the capital’s 10th arrondissement. It was also said to be close to the Gare du Nord Eurostar hub.
According to the Daily Mail, the attacker demanded to be put in contact with Abolghasem Delfi, Iran's Ambassador in the Paris. He apparently wanted to send a message to the government.
One man was said to be injured when the gunman, who is now said to have been "psychologically disturbed", hit him. Police were able to talk the man down and arrested him soon after they arrived on scene.
"But after almost four hours inside the offices of a tech company in the French capital, armed officers moved in, and arrested him," reported the Daily Mail.
At this time, the identity of the attacker has yet to be revealed. Paris has been subjected to a number of terrorist attacks in recent years. It is wonderful to hear some great news about a safe ending to a terrible situation.
