The nation mourned with the Bush family on Wednesday as they buried their beloved father, former President George H.W. Bush. It was an amazing funeral service with numerous political leaders in attendance.
Most notably, former Presidents filled the church pews. The Obama family, the Bush family, the Clintons, the Carters, and the Trumps were all in attendance. Other political leaders were also seated in the church.
As President Trump made his was into the church, the eyes of lots of attendees focused on him and his wife, First Lady Melania Trump. The President took his seat in the front room and sat right next to Barack Obama and Michelle.
The Obamas exchanged greetings with Melania before shaking President Trump's hand as well. They appeared to offer simple "good morning" words as they all remained solemn before the service began.
The video in the tweet below shows the moment the Trumps entered the church and took their seats. They were escorted by a member of the military who kept his precision and professionalism at an all time high.
Some critics tried to make a big deal about the exchanges on social media. However, the exchange was a terrific gesture from both sides. It showed that civility is truly the higher road that we should all strive to take in our daily lives.
The President and former Presidents watched on as George W. Bush delivered the final eulogy for the service. He closed by saying that he spoke to his dad just before he died and told him that he had been a "wonderful dad" and that he loved him. During the eulogy at the service, George W. Bush said his dad's "last words on earth were `I love you, too.'
