The pro-life/pro-choice controversy has recently taken a sharp turn since New York legalized late-term abortions. The controversial bill, which allows women to get abortions all the way up until the baby’s day of birth, sparked massive outrage among Republicans and Democrats alike. Making it acceptable to take an unborn baby’s life when the child could survive if born, was difficult for many people to justify.

Following NY governor Andrew Cuomo’s new bill, Virginia governor Ralph Northam spoke out in support of late-term abortions. Northam, who is currently facing major backlash over a racism issue, is also expected to legalize late-term abortions in upcoming days.

Franklin Graham, the son of the legendary Rev. Billy Graham, spoke out against the legalization of late-term abortions in a Twitter post on Wednesday, February 6th. In a series of Tweets, Graham shared a bold message for Christians.

“I can’t understand for the life of me why the Democratic Party is pushing legislation that allows late-term abortions. To hear the Gov. of VA say that a child would be ‘kept comfortable’ while the mother & medical providers make decisions about its future is incomprehensible,” Graham stated.

“Vermont is considering a late-term abortion bill that would go even further than New York,” he added. “It would remove all rights of the unborn & establish the ‘fundamental right’ to an abortion w/out any restrictions in their state, & w/out regard to the viability of the baby.”

Graham continued with a warning for the Christian population: “When Christians stand on the sidelines with their mouths closed, when we don’t go out to vote candidates who defend life into public office, evil can come in and take hold.”

“Today from 4:30-6:30 PM at the Vermont State House, they’re having a public hearing about this bill & people have a chance to speak up! PRAY for the hearing & encourage those who support life in Vermont to be there at the State House to be heard,” the American evangelist urged.
