Police are ramping up their investigation into the disappearance of a sweet four-year-old little girl who was last seen on July 6th in Fairmont, West Virginia.
Authorities suspect that Gracelynn June Scritchfield was abducted by her father Arlie “Trey” Hetrick III, after he failed to return her to her mother’s home.
WDTV reports that, according to the child's mother Summer Stritchfield, “Gracelynn was supposed to be returned home by 6:00 p.m. on July 14, but Summer says she called Hetrick at 6:30 p.m. on July 14th, where she was told by Hetrick that he had taken Gracelynn on a week-long vacation.
“Summer said she was not told about the vacation prior to the visitation.”
The vacation was supposed to be over on July 19th, but when Summer phoned her ex the following weekend, she could not reach him. Alarmed, she phoned the Fairmont Police to report the irregularity.
The police issued the Amber Alert on July 22nd.
Gracelynn is described as a white female with dark blonde hair and blue eyes. She is approximately 3 feet tall and weighs 35 pounds.
Hetrick, 26, is a white male with brown hair and blue eyes. He is 5 foot 9 inches tall, weighing approximately 140 pounds.
“The pair are believed to be traveling in a 2001 gold Subaru Forester, WV License Plate 1TH163, with bungee cords on the rear door. Their destination is unknown.”
Anyone with information about Gracelynn’s whereabouts or has seen or heard from Hetrick is asked to notify the West Virginia Sate
