The Christian community is outraged after GQ Magazine has published a story slamming the Bible. Editors of the magazine created a list of books that have been considered great books but are not worth the time to actually read.
The story was titled "21 Books You Don't Have to Read," and goes on to call the Bible "overrated." The Bible is listed at No. 12 in a list of 21.
The editors claim, "The Holy Bible is rated very highly by all the people who supposedly live by it but who in actuality have not read it." The article goes on to say, "those who have read it know there are some good parts, but overall it is certainly not the finest thing that man has ever produced."
"It is repetitive, self-contradictory, sententious, foolish, and even at times ill-intentioned," the monthly men's magazine claims.
Many have spoken out against this article calling it a "shame" and that the magazine couldn't be any more wrong. Following the publishing of the article, Father Jonathan Morris sat down with Fox & Friends to share his view on the foolishness of the editors to make such claim against the Bible.
Other well-known books on this list include, "The Lord of the Rings" by J.R.R. Tolkien, "A Farewell to Arms" by Ernest Hemingway, "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" by Mark Twain, and "Lonesome Dove" by Larry McMurtry.
