They know you love them! Blake Lively, Leighton MeesterAnd Penn BadgleyAfter that, he went on to achieve great things. Gossip Girl gave them their big breaks.
From September 2007 to December 2012, the CW teen drama ran six seasons. The cast of the series was finished. They had a successful personal life with other A-listers, and they starred in some the most popular films and television shows in the entertainment business. Despite their individual successes and the possibility of a revival, they never stopped talking about it.
HBO Max ordered 10 episodes for a reboot in July 2019. The new series will take place eight years after the events in the series finale. It will follow a new group of New York City-dwelling students from private schools. But, diehard fans shouldn’t count on seeing the original cast.
“We’ve reached out to all of them to let them know it was happening, and we would love for them to be involved if they want to be involved,” executive producer Josh SchwartzAccording to reporters in July 2019. “But [we] certainly didn’t want to make it contingent upon their [participation]. They were able to play these characters for six years. We wanted to respect their feelings if they felt they were doing well with it. But obviously, it would be great to see them again.”
Crawford seemed to be open to diving back into Upper East Side life. “I would love to do the voice [of Gossip Girl],” he exclusively told Us Weekly in November 2019. “I wish they would ask me to do the voice of Gossip Girl this time around! That’s a great job. It’s a great gig. They didn’t ask me!”
