After facing backlash, Goonew’s mother has defended the display of her son’s corpse at a bar.
Goonew’s mother stated that this is what the rapper would want.
Patrice Morrow stated to Fox5DC.com, “For all the negatives people probably don’t even understand anything about us.” They don’t know. People will just say what they want and that’s fine. That’s perfectly acceptable. I was happy with the way I sent my son off. I wish people would let me grieve in my own peace.
Bliss, the club, posted a statement to its Instagram page:
The statement said, “Our deepest condolences go out to Goonew’s loved ones, friends, and supporters.” “Bliss was contacted to rent our venue for Goonew’s home-going celebration by a local funeral house. Bliss wasn’t made aware of the events. We deeply apologize to anyone who may have been offended or upset. In this difficult time, please keep Goonew’s loved ones and friends in your prayers. Respectfully, Bliss DC.
