The United States Supreme Court is a highly controversial topic. The Justices of the Supreme Court are appointed for the rest of their lives. Due to this long appointment, due diligence and extreme vetting must go into selecting each and every member.
Now, a breaking news story is coming in concerning one of the Supreme Court's most iconic members. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has been hospitalized.
According to reports, Ginsburg was hospitalized Thursday after fracturing three ribs on her left side in a fall at her office a day earlier, the court said in a news release. She is currently 85 years of age.
Ginsburg has had her fair share of health issues during the past few years. She has fallen before, including a time in 2012 when she also broke two ribs, as well as battling cancer and artery issues in 2014.
"The liberal justice, who studied at Harvard Law School, was nominated to the highest court in the land by former President Bill Clinton in 1993 to replace retiring Justice Byron R. White. Ginsburg was Clinton's first Supreme Court pick. Ginsburg is the court's oldest member and there's been a great deal of speculation on when she may retire. However, she reportedly hired clerks for the term that extends into 2020, indicating she has no plans to retire," reported Fox News.
Social media was filled with the news about Ginsburg. Many folks, including Franklin Graham, offered their prayers for the Justice.
