17-year-old Caitlyn Frisina, a Florida student from Fort White High School, has been missing since Saturday evening. Authorities believe she ran away with the high school’s boy’s soccer coach, 27-year-old Rian Rodriguez, over the weekend.
Although authorities originally had no evidence to back up this theory, the coach had also not been seen since Saturday. This theory was not officially confirmed until Thursday morning after gas station surveillance footage showed the two were indeed together, reported CBS News.
The photographs were captured at a Pilot gas station in St. George, Georgia. Previously, it was also discovered that the teenager pulled $200 cash out of an ATM in St. Marys, Georgia.
They may be traveling in a red 2001 Mercury Sable with Florida license plate Z04CSC. Police have reason to believe they could be headed to New York, Pennsylvania, or Canada, where some of their family resides. The I-95 corridor is a possible path of travel.
In the initial report, the local police department revealed that Frisina fully erased everything on her cell phone and appeared to escape through her bedroom window, insisting that she left willingly.
Although Frisina is 17 years old, she is still a minor and legally unable to consent. Frisina's family has begged her to come back home.
Police also obtained a text message, confirming that the teen and coach are allegedly in a relationship, but it is unclear how long this has been going on. Aside from school, Frisina knew Rodriguez as a family friend—her father, the girl’s high school soccer coach, even helped Rodriguez get the job at the school.
Please continue to pray for her safe return. In other news, missing 3-year-old Mariah Wood’s father spoke up about his daughter’s abduction, believes her mother is guilty.
