The body of a famous entertainer was just found washed up near a marina. Scott Hutchinson, the famous singer from the band known as Frightened Rabbit, had been missing since Wednesday. His body was discovered on Thursday.
His family said there had been recent concerns about his mental health, and they were "devastated" by his death, reported BBC. He had also been open about his battle with depression in recent years. At this time, investigators are looking into his cause of death.
"Mr. Hutchison had spoken openly about his battle with depression over the years, with elder brother Neil saying he had done so 'in an attempt to help other people with similar conditions,'" wrote BBC.
His family has released a statement about Scott's death. Please join us in praying for them, along with Scott's friends, as they endure this tragic time. We ask that God's healing grace would surround and comfort them.
"Scott wore his heart on his sleeve, and that was evident in the lyrics of his music and the content of many of his social media posts. He was passionate, articulate and charismatic, as well as being one of the funniest and kindest people we knew. Friends and family would all agree that he had a brilliant sense of humor and was a great person to be around," they said.
The last time anyone saw Scott alive he was leaving the Dakota Hotel at 1:00 AM on Wednesday. He had recently tweeted an eerie message only hours earlier telling everyone to "Be so good to everyone you love. It's not a given. I'm so annoyed that it's not. I didn't live by that standard and it kills me. Please, hug your loved ones."
Fans and celebrities reached out on Twitter to share their condolences about his passing.
"RIP SCOTT HUTCHINSON of @FRABITS - He sang of pain and hope and epic Scottish love. When you are in despair, there is always a way to find healing. Remember that," wrote Rainn Wilson.
