On Wednesday a transgender woman from Wyoming was convicted of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl. The attack happened inside the bathroom of a home on March 23.
According to the Billings Gazette, Michelle Martinez used to go by Miguel Martinez before identifying as female. The victim of the attack was the daughter of a family friend.
After the horrific incident took place, the young girl immediately told her mother and the Casper police was notified. Martinez could now face up to 70 years in prison since being found guilty.
This incident comes after religious leader Franklin Graham has warned many times against the dangers of transgenders being able to use bathrooms of the gender with which they identify. Graham recently took to social media once again to voice his concern regarding this controversial topic.
“People have been warned against the dangers of allowing transgender persons into the dressing rooms, locker rooms, and bathrooms of the opposite sex. We knew it was dangerous—that’s just common sense. Transgenderism is a sexual perversion,” Graham wrote in a Facebook post.
“This kind of thing allows sexual predators, usually men dressed as women, more access to women and children in a vulnerable location. I’m glad this man pretending to be a woman was caught and found guilty, and I hope he is taken off the streets so this doesn’t happen to another young girl,” Graham continued.
Please join us in praying for healing and this young girl as she recovers from this traumatic incident. We pray this situation ends here and that there will be a change in the law before this happens again.
