They brought in a doctor to try to legitimize abortion as healthcare, but it didn't work. It seems Planned Parenthood may be playing the part of Goliath to Trump's David in the matter of the unborn.
While at one point President Trump seemed like a joke with hollow promises to pro-life voters, he and his administration have been far more ferocious that Planned Parenthood could have ever imagined. Their latest set of restrictions against abortion include barring family planning clinics (one of Planned Parenthood's greatest referral sources) from referring patients for abortions, thereby severing the idea that abortion is included in family planning healthcare.
And effective next year, abortion clinics will no longer be allowed to be under the same roof as family planning clinics. The devastation to Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion provider, is booming. So what do you do when business is down? You fire the president. That's exactly what Planned Parenthood just did in a "secret meeting" reveals the disgraced ousted leader, Leanna Wen.
Wen only began her position with the abortion giant within the last year, so the firing is most certainly an insult. Planned Parenthood, very much on the defensive from Trump's pro-life administration, wants a president that is more aggressive and politically-minded.
On Facebook, Franklin Graham shared the news with his followers. "It sounds like there’s been a huge shake-up at abortion-provider, Planned Parenthood. Their former president Dr. Leana Wen tweeted yesterday that Planned Parenthood’s Board terminated her employment during a 'secret meeting.'"
"Dr. Wen said, 'The new Board leadership has determined that the priority of Planned Parenthood moving forward is to double down on abortion rights advocacy.' As Christians, we can also double down—IN PRAYER! Pray that our legislators will end the funding of Planned Parenthood and ultimately put an end to the loss of life through abortion," shared Graham.
Another notable pro-life leader, Shawn Carney, president and CEO of 40 Days for Life, shared more insight into Wen's sudden firing. "She came in trying to legitimize Planned Parenthood as a health care provider, but they are, as she found out, driven by abortion," Carney said. "You will not see a doctor at Planned Parenthood unless you're having an abortion, and so she was wanting to talk more about health care but this is a terrible time for Planned Parenthood. They've closed many of their locations. They poured $30 million trying to get Hillary Clinton elected and now they are the advocates for late-term abortion and infanticide that we're seeing spread across the country."
Carney was the one responsible for helping Abby Johnson leave her job at Planned Parenthood, the basis of the hit film "Unplanned."
"The abortion industry has lost people in droves, not [workers] who are just mad and want another job, but actually had a change of heart, and the most powerful voices in the pro-life movement are those women who themselves have had an abortion," Carney said. "Those are the women that lead the March for Life in Washington, D.C., so I think it's awesome to see the pro-life movement, not only get larger, but it gets younger every single year."
