It used to be that just the opposing party would slam the President. But increasingly, President Trump has both parties attacking him. Political opponents are calling him "unfit," a serious term attempting to remove him from office.
But does Trump deserve being called "unfit?" Unfit would insinuate mentally unstable, deranged, or out to bring down the country. On the contrary, says strong supporter Franklin Graham, President Trump has done nothing but uphold the promises that got him in office, despite strong opposition and defying polls.
One of the main voices calling for Trump's impeachment is, of course, Elizabeth Warren (who was originally called out by Trump for faking a Native American heritage). She is planning to run in 2020. “My point here is that if they believe that Donald Trump cannot fulfill the obligations of his office, then they have a constitutional responsibility to invoke the 25th amendment,” said Warren, according to The Nevada Independent. “Their loyalty under law is not to him personally. It is to the Constitution of the United States and to the people of United States.”
Here, in a bold Facebook post, Graham soundly puts Trump's critics in their place. He asks that instead of bickering and trying to bring Trump down (only to the nation's detriment), politicians do their job and try to help our nation in a concerted effort.
"Some are quoted in the media saying that President Trump is 'unfit' for office. Some have even gone as far as to suggest he should be forcefully removed from office. Really?" asks Graham rhetorically. "During the 2016 campaign, Donald J. Trump soundly defeated all of the Republican candidates and the Democratic candidate he debated. Even with that, polls and predictions didn’t give him a chance of winning the election—but he did. And now he is keeping his word to the 62+ million people who voted for him."
"He promised to get the economy going, create jobs, appoint conservative judges, defend the unborn, rebuild our military, and strengthen our southern border by building a wall—and he’s doing it. I just wish the Democrats and the Republicans would work with him and stop trying to tear him down. Nothing is gained by putting forth the lie that he is unfit. I encourage people of faith to pray for the President and his family, Vice President Mike Pence and his family, and all those who serve in the Cabinet and the White House. They need our prayers," ends Graham's appeal.
Even within hours, some 50,000 people had agreed with Graham, with commenters wondering what Trump could have accomplished so far if he were fully supported.
One commenter said: "I pray for all of them every day and usually twice a day. Can you imagine what he could have accomplished, if they would have stopped their agenda, to bring him and our Country down. The dems real agenda that trump is blocking, is driving them nuts. If God wasn't on Trumps side he would be dead and gone, it is the power of prayer for sure, that is upholding our greatest president."
We agree! What do you think of Graham's post? Show your support by praying for President Trump and Vice President Pence in the comments! We want to hear from you! Thank you!
