Recently, the topic of God’s forgiveness has been a focal point for many Christians in our society. Now, a major celebrity has just commented on receiving forgiveness for his past.

Mark Wahlberg recently spoke about hoping for forgiveness from God for some of his past decisions. He said he openly admits he has made some poor decisions in his life.

"I just always hope that God is a movie fan and also forgiving because I've made some poor choices in my past,” said Wahlberg.

When pressed about his statement, Wahlberg said he was referencing his decision to play an adult film star in one of his movies in 1997. Wahlberg is a devout Catholic in his personal life.

"I've never been shy about sharing my past and the bad decisions I've made and being affiliated with gangs, being incarcerated, so absolutely I think they can identify with me on a personal level, and that's why I've continued to try to do as much as I can to help young people," he said, explaining how he was able to find his footing once more with the help of the church.

Now, Franklin Graham has commented on Wahlberg’s words. Franklin gave us all a bit of hope and comfort and addressed the issue head-on with his comments on his Facebook page.

“Mark Wahlberg is quoted in the news as saying he hopes God will forgive him for his ‘turn as a porn star’ in a 1997 film. The answer to that for Mark or anyone else is—Yes, God will forgive, but it’s on God’s terms. The Bible says, ‘If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.’ The Bible is very clear that it is ‘by grace through faith’ not of works, writes Graham.

Then, Graham followed up his comments by including an amazing prayer. He said that anyone who prays it can rest assured knowing God has forgiven them.

“You can experience God’s forgiveness right now by praying this prayer: God I have sinned and I’m sorry. I am willing to turn from my sins; Help me. I believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins, took my sins to the grave, and I believe you raised Him to life. I want to trust Him now as my Savior and follow Him as my Lord. Amen,” he wrote.
