Judge Brett Kavanaugh, President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, has been the subject of major headlines in recent days following multiple sexual assault allegations — all of which he has denied. As a result, Kavanaugh and his first accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday, September 27th.
Both parties had the opportunity to share their testimony. Ford alleged that Kavanaugh was one of several men who sexually assaulted her at a high school party over the summer of 1982. Kavanaugh, on the other hand, continued to defend his innocence; he presented calendars proving that he was not in town during the time frame that the alleged incident occurred.
As America awaits a final decision on Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination, public figures from both sides of the political spectrum spoke out about the hearing. One of the top conservative names to offer his two cents on the situation was Franklin Graham, son of the legendary Billy Graham.
Graham shared his bold, faith-filled reaction to Kavanaugh’s hearing on social media. Ultimately, Graham encouraged the public to pray for our country, Kavanaugh, Dr. Ford, and the Senate Judiciary Committee.
“Yesterday’s hearing was an embarrassment. Let’s pray that our country will do better than this. Judge Brett Kavanaugh said this has ruined his reputation and devastated his family,” Graham stated. “Unfortunately, I’m afraid that is exactly what the minority leadership wanted to do.
“Pray today for the Kavanaughs, Dr. Ford, and members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, that this process will come to a conclusion soon,” he added.
His statements went viral with thousands of retweets and comments. Many of Graham’s followers agreed with his call to prayer.
In related news, Sarah Huckabee Sanders also made national headlines for her epic reaction to the Kavanaugh hearing.
