On Monday, October 15, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced the incredibly exciting news that they're expecting their first child. The little boy or girl is due in the spring.
The news comes after there were rumors that Meghan might be expecting. People began to speculate after she wore a loose-fitting coat to Princess Eugenie's wedding. Those intensified when she arrived in Australia holding a stack of folders in front of her stomach.
Just hours later, the royal couple announced their happy news. They are certainly over the moon, especially given that they've both expressed a desire to have a family throughout the years.
Franklin Graham took to the Twitter to congratulate the couple, who were married in May of this year. He wrote: "Congratulations to Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan, on their great news!"
Meghan, 37, and Harry, 34, will welcome their first child in spring 2019, said Kensington Palace. The full statement reads as follows:
“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019. Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”
A royal source told PEOPLE that Meghan has had her 12-week scan and is “feeling well.”
Congratulations to the royal couple on their first child! May God bless Meghan and Harry and their growing family.
