White House communications aide Kelly Sadler became the center of a major controversy on Thursday, May 10th after she mocked Senator John McCain’s brain cancer in a meeting. Her remark sparked backlash from both the Republican and Democratic party given that McCain’s diagnosis is irrelevant to his politics.
"It doesn't matter, he's dying anyway," Sadler allegedly said referring to McCain’s objection to the CIA director nominee.
Franklin Graham, the son of the legendary Rev. Billy Graham, issued a bold response to Sadler’s inappropriate comment on Friday. Graham condemned Sadler’s mockery, and additionally, offered his prayers for the Senator and his family.
“A White House aide is under fire for mocking Senator John McCain who is battling brain cancer,” Graham began. “She was quoted as saying, ‘He’s dying anyway.’ Her insensitivity is definitely callous and uncalled for.”
“My prayers are with the McCain family during this difficult time,” he added.
