Former Spokesman for GOP Now Becoming Democrat Over Trump's Support of Roy Moore

Recently, President Trump announced his official endorsement for Senate candidate Roy Moore. The endorsement comes after a string of allegations against the candidate regarding sexual harassment.

President Trump said that regardless of the accusations, he believes that Moore is the best person for the job as Senator and that his character should speak for itself. Since the announcement, some of have rallied their support and others have been sending harsh criticism.

One person who vastly disagreed with President Trump’s decision to support Moore is a former spokesman for GOP lawmakers and for Breitbart News. In fact, Kurt Bardella just revealed that he will be switching from Republican to Democrat over his disapproval.

Bardella said that he does not want to support the Republican Party because of the endorsement by GOP leaders.

He said, “President Trump and the Republican National Committee are endorsing, supporting and funding Moore because they would rather elect a sexual predator who preys on underage teenagers at the local mall, than a crime-fighting prosecutor who happens to be a Democrat.”

“This is not a party I want to be associated with any longer,” he continued. “This is not a party that is trustworthy enough to protect innocent children from sexual predators.”

According to The Hill, Bardella had initially left Breitbart because they would not stand with reporter Michelle Fields after the altercation that she got into with a former Trump-campaign manager.

He said that while he was out of work, the more he “came to realize that Republican positions on the most pressing challenges facing our society were out of alignment with what I believed.”

He continued, “This is a party that constantly buries its head in the sand on climate change, racial profiling, guns, LGBTQ equality, income equality, food insecurity, paid family leave and the treatment of women. The embrace of Moore by the Republican Party’s top ‘leadership’ is all the proof you need to know that this is a party that no longer stands for anything.”

While nothing has been proven regarding the allegations against Moore, Bardella believes that the accusations are enough to make it impossible to support him. Bardella announced he is switching parties because he does not believe in the “America…being painted by today’s Republican Party.”
