Former Professional Athlete Dies in Horrific Car Crash, 'Ejected After Hitting Tree'

A sad story is being reported this evening from South Carolina. A horrific car crash has left one made dead. Now, the coroner has confirmed his identity.

Officials say that Leroy Stanton, the former MLB player for the Seattle Marines, died in the accident. They say he failed to stop at a stop sign and drove his car into a tree. He was ejected in the crash and pronounced dead by medical officials. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

Stanton is originally from Latta, South Carolina. He was 72-years-old. Please join us in praying for his friends and family during this sad time. We pray that they take comfort in their faith and in their many wonderful memories with the former baseball great.
