Former President Barack Obama Reacts to Barcelona Terror Attack

Countries around the globe were heartbroken after another terrorist attack occurred in Barcelona, Spain on Thursday, August 17th. Currently, 13 people have been pronounced dead and dozens of others are injured.

According to multiple news outlets, a white van crashed into a large group of pedestrians near a popular tourist area. One suspect is reportedly in custody and an investigation is still ongoing for additional details.

Following the tragic incident, former president Barack Obama released a statement. Obama expressed his support on behalf of himself and the former first lady, Michelle Obama.

He wrote on Twitter, “Michelle and I are thinking of the victims and their families in Barcelona. Americans will always stand with our Spanish friends.”
