A tragic news story is coming in out of Montana today. According to reports, the body of a defensive lineman for the University of Montana was just discovered. Police are investigating the incident but his death is thought to be an apparent suicide.
"University of Montana defensive lineman Andrew Harris, the son of a former NFL defensive end, was found dead Tuesday in an apparent suicide, police said. Harris, 22, was found dead at his home and police were investigating his death as a suicide, Missoula police Sgt. Travis Welsh told the Montana Standard," according to Fox News.
Harris was the son of a former NFL player, Greg Harris. His father, Greg, played for the New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers during his own football career. This is such sad news. The school has released a statement about his death.
“All of us in Grizzly Athletics were saddened to hear of Andrew's passing,” Montana’s athletic director Kent Haslam said. “On behalf of our department and the more than 300 student-athletes here at UM, we send our deepest condolences and heartfelt thoughts to the Harris family, and all those who knew and loved Andrew.”

"The Missoula Sheriff’s Office has confirmed Griz DE Andrew Harris was found dead in his home this morning. Police are investigating the death as a suicide," wrote Seaborn Larson on Twitter.
"My thoughts are with all of the loved ones of Andrew Harris. Mental health struggles amongst college athletes are a huge reality in our society. I pray for all those who are hurting now. It’s okay to be vulnerable, it’s okay to ask for help," wrote Kathy Rudkin on Twitter.
