A former NFL player is reportedly making plans to run for Congress. He currently has his sights set on 16th Congressional District in Ohio.

Anthony Gonzalez was a wide receiver who played for the Indianapolis Colts and the New England Patriots. He is currently 32 years old.

Reports have stated that Gonzalez has met with the National Republican Congressional Committee, and numerous other influencers, as he formulates his campaign plan. He will be running as a Republican.

“After leaving the NFL in 2012, Gonzalez entered into a business career, earning his MBA from Stanford University in 2014. In June, the Cleveland native left his job as the CEO of Chalk Schools, a San Francisco education technology firm, and moved back near his hometown in the 16th District,” wrote The Hill.

The seat he will be running for is expected to be open in the coming election. Currently, Republican Jim Renacci holds the office.
