The attacks of September 11, 2001, changed the course of America forever. Thousands of lives were lost to terror and a war to defeat Islamic extremism has waged ever since.
However, for one former pop star, she believes the 9/11 attacks contributed to her failed music career. Willa Ford recently opened up on the issue and caused a major controversy in doing so.
Ford is the singer who was poised to rise to fame long with Britney Spears and other female pop singers. She had a record breaking hit and was set to release another song.
When Ford decided to release her second single, she chose to do it on September 11, 2001. As the world watched the events unfold across the country, the newest song from Willa Ford was one of the last things on their mind.
"A lot of people don't realize this, but my second single was released on September 11, 2001," the 36-year-old explained in a new interview with Billboard. Everything that happened that day froze; the world stood still, as it should have. My second single didn't do well because anything that launched that day kind of got canned. I know that sounds silly, but on radio they slate things, but it really fell to the wayside,” she recently said in an interview.
Many Americans did not like Ford’s comments. Her words came across as selfish on a day when so many lost their lives. What do you think about her comments? Let us know on our Facebook page. Also, for another shocking story that just came out of Hollywood, check out our other article here.
