America First Action super PAC announced today that David Clarke, the former sheriff of Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, will be joining them. Clarke shockingly resigned last Friday, but he hadn't announced his next move.
However, people conjectured that it would be something to do with Trump. The possibility that it might be within the administration was brought up earlier in the year.
America First issued a statement today, saying he joined the super PAC as its Senior Advisor and Spokesman. America First Action is the primary super PAC dedicated to electing federal candidates who support the agenda of the Trump-Pence administration.
Brian Walsh, the president of the super PAC, gave a quote, showing his support of Clarke's appointment. He highlighted Clarke's past as a law enforcement agent and how that will impact his role in the super PAC.
"David Clarke is an American patriot, and we are very proud to welcome him to America First."
He continued, "Having spent a lifetime in law enforcement—protecting and serving his community and fighting for justice and the Second Amendment—Sheriff Clarke doesn't just believe in making America safe again; he's devoted his life to it."
