Representatives from the SNP asked Gareth Johnson if he could state that the Rwanda policy was both legal and ethical during the questions being posed to the Ministry for Justice.
Johnson repeatedly said that the policy complied with all european human rights laws and that the government were “confident” that the decision was the right one.
Members of the SNP drew examples of the policy’s critiques, citing comments from the Refugee Action Gorup amongst others who have said they disapprove of the policy.
‘Focus on overseas borders rather than the one between England and Scotland’ Gareth Johnson told the SNP.
